Unitree Robotics debuts on Shanghai's STAR Market, first listed humanoid-robot maker in mainland China
Chinese humanoid robot maker Unitree Robotics (officially Hangzhou Unitree Robotics Co.) began trading on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market on August 19, becoming the first general-purpose robotics company listed on mainland China's public markets. The company priced its shares at 150.8 yuan each, raising roughly 6.1 billion yuan (about $904 million); the retail tranche was oversubscribed more than 8,000 times. Per CNBC, the stock traded up roughly 542% from its IPO price on debut day. Founded in Hangzhou in 2016 by Wang Xingxing, Unitree is currently one of the world's largest humanoid robot makers by shipment volume.
